ShowingTIme Two Factor Authentication (TFA)

ShowingTime is now requiring two factor authentication for login on the app. TFA will not be required when you are logging in via the MLS Dashboard tile or Matrix links.

How two-factor authentication works

You will receive an authentication code by email the first time you sign into ShowingTime on a new device.

After you enter the code correctly, ShowingTime saves a cookie in your browser to remember the authentication.

You must complete TFA when signing in with a username and password. You don't need to complete TFA if you:

  • Sign in through an MLS authentication link or MLS single sign-on (SSO), which may have its own authentication process.
  • Sign in using a link from a ShowingTime email without using your username and password.
  • Use Home by ShowingTime.

Authentication timing and re-verification

The following rules apply after TFA is enabled:

  • Grace period: You have 30 days from your first username and password sign-in attempt to complete TFA on your device.
  • Lockout: If you don't complete TFA during the 30-day grace period, you're locked out until you complete authentication.
  • Cookie duration: The TFA cookie lasts 90 days and renews each time you sign in.
  • Cleared cookies or cache: You must complete TFA again if you clear your browser cookies or cache.
  • Blocked cookies: You must complete TFA again if your browser prevents the authentication cookie from being saved.
  • Inactive devices: You must complete TFA again if you don't sign in to your account from the device for 90 days.
  • Multiple accounts: You must complete TFA separately for each username. If you switch to another account, you must authenticate that username.
  • Shared email addresses: If you have multiple accounts that use the same email address, authentication codes for those accounts will be sent to that email address.
  • Team admins: If you access multiple agent accounts, you must complete TFA each time you switch to a different account.

ShowingTime sends your authentication code to your agent profile email. This is the email address in your profile basics.

If you can't access your TFA email

Use the appropriate option below if your profile email is missing or you can't access it.

If your email address is missing

  1. Sign into the ShowingTime using the tile on the MLS Dashboard and update your email address in ShowingTime. Be sure to make sure your email address is marked as a default in the Member Hub, as well.
  2. If your office has office-level Appointment Center or Front Desk services, ask your office manager or staff to update your email address.
  3. If none of these options resolve the issue, contact ShowingTime Support. Support will follow the existing ID verification process to confirm your identity before updating your email address.

If you lost access to your email address
